About Us

Salon 100, located on the corner of first and Main in downtown Boise, opened in November of 2007, by owner and stylist Ashley Wilcox. What started with four stylists specializing in men's hair has now grown into a full service hair salon with 9 stylists who specialize in all types of barbering and cosmetology. Salon 100 offers top of the line men's styling, the newest trends in color, extension specialists and everything in between.

Ashley Wilcox When I say "Salon 100 gives the best men's cut in town" it is a statement that I firmly stand behind. I also stand behind one of the most comfortable chairs you will ever sit in. I have been specializing in men's hair for the last 10 years. Over the years I have mastered the art of men's hair, it is paying attention to detail and being confident in your work. Not only am I great at what I do but I truly love what I do. My scissors have skills!

Now that I have your attention here is a little about Ashley Marguerite Wilcox. I decided I wanted to do hair when I was around the age of 13. My hairdresser was young, stylish and a ton of fun. She was everything I wanted to be when I put my big girl pants on. So when I graduated high school in 2002 I knew where I was headed, Straight to Head masters school of hair design. That's where they were going to teach me to master the head and design hair. It was there that I decided that I liked men…I mean doing men's hair! So when I graduated (with a 97% may I add) I needed to find a place that fit me.  Tight cuts A.K.A. "The Hooters of Haircutting" is where I landed. As much as I hate to admit it I owe it all too tight cuts. It was there I learned to give a quality cut as well as make that cut an experience, something I strive to achieve with each client that gives me a half hour of his time. After 4 years I decided to retire my leather pants. Not because my posterior out grew the pants, because if you know me that is not possible. It was because I couldn't grow within the company any further. It was then that I decided to open the doors of Salon 100! It's a place where I get to display my talent, run the show and enjoy every minute of it. I believe in my team and the work that they produce. Stylists come a dime a dozen…Salon 100 stylists set ourselves apart! We will not only ensure a top of the line cut but we guarantee that you leave with a smile on your face…and hopefully a story to tell. We encourage you to come see for yourself!

Nicole Pontak Thanksgiving/Christmas time is that one time of the year everyone always has family, shopping, and gatherings on their mind and tend to forget about the normal hustle and bustle, diet, birth control, etc. 1985 holiday season only the latter was forgotten. September 1986 Nicole (Nicool) Pontak graced the world with her presence. After doing nothing of significance (at least that no one can prove because the smart phone had yet to be invented... thank god) for the first 18 years of her life, Nicole attended the Paul Mitchell school of cosmetology in Boise, ID and graduated in 2005. She worked at tight cuts for 1.5 years. After tight cuts closed in oct 2007 ( and nicole turned 21)  she started to work at salon 100 where she could make her own schedule (and back when $5 could buy all you can drink on a Thursday this was clearly life throwing you bacon) and continue to perfect her skills in both men's and women's hair. And then? No and then. Salon 100 is where it's at.

When she's not cutting hair you will most likely find Nicole in the kitchen, where women belong, baking cupcakes. If not in the kitchen then likely counteracting the action of said cupcakes by running .... but most likely sitting by (or falling in) a campfire in the middle of nowhere with her family, friends, and dogs slurring about life and how much she hates cell phones/service... or at home, on her phone, playing words with friends while simultaneously spewing out random facts to her boyfriend, which she later quizzes him on the see if he was listening.

That's why she listens and ask questions to make sure you're both on the same page. Lisa Toone Lisa came to Salon 100 with over 10 years in the beauty industry stuffed into her cowboy boots.  She moved to boise in 2010 from Salt Lake City chasing her dumb girl heart, eventually ditching the dud but falling in love with the city.  She began her career from beauty school working at a scantily clad salon called Bikini Cuts, go figure! When Lisa isn't cutting hair at salon 100, she's working as a medical aesthetician, riding her swing bikes, playing on the river (or in the powder), teaching Booty Barre classes and Oula Dance, or simply drinking a cold one at one of Boise's lovely patio's, sometimes in her bikini, sometimes not. Her specialty is in men's cutting and her styles show it! She is always happy to take new clients or walk-ins and will quickly win you over with her wit and bubbly personality!

Nancy Nguyen My name is Nancy Nguyen and I moved to Boise about 10 years ago from Dallas, Texas. I've been doing hair for about 25 years and I specialize in all different types of styles (men's, women's, color, etc). In my years of experience, I've been lucky enough to meet and style some significant and interesting people; from football players, to basketball stars, to other hair stylists, and even the hair icon Paul Mitchell himself! I love meeting and getting to know new people, so I figured why not make them look good too? I love to fish and I love all things creative and definitely know my way around the kitchen. I have two sons 4 years apart, Michael, who is a now a nurse in the Navy, and Max, a professional dancer/choreographer. And I have also been married to my husband Bruce for 27 great years.

Julie Argon My name is Julie. I am born and raised in Boise. I have been doing hair for 3 years now and still loving it! I do women's cuts and colors and men's cuts. I also love to do styling for women's hair, including updo's for prom and wedding.

Hair has been my passion ever since I was a little girl and it still is! I love making people feel beautiful and great about themselves, and them leaving with a smile on their face!
